All stat modifiers are assumed as though the ‘mon that they are attached to is level 100.

A Pokémon can have a maximum of 3 Battle Spirits set at any time. They can be equipped or unequipped from the menu. They can also be set and unset from the menu or in battle. Setting a Battle Spirit in battle takes one turn to do. Unsetting a Battle Spirit in battle happens when the Pokémon uses its Spirit Attack, which unsets the Battle Spirit and removes all of the stat buffs until the player takes one turn to set them again.

Battle Spirit Art Concepts

Legendary Spirits

There are 5-6 Legendary spirits, each associated with a Legendary Pokémon in the Keway Region and are awarded for defeating/catching the Pokémon that they correspond with. Only one Legendary Spirit can be applied per Pokémon. In competitive battles, only one Legendary Battle Spirit can be applied per Pokémon per team. Rather than applying stat buffs when equipped, equipping these Battle Spirits augments the effects of the Pokémon’s spirit attack.

Though they are designated as their own category of spirits, each one corresponds with one of the 6 mint colors.

The Legendary Pokémon, Xenialess, will introduce the concept of battle spirits in the 3rd release of Pokémon Skyquake.

Gameplay Loop

Set Spirit (Apply Stat Modifiers) -> Exert Spirit (Use Spirit Attack, Remove Stat Modifiers) -> Restore Spirit (use a turn to reset spirit/modifiers)


Battle Spirit HP Combo Bonuses

Every Battle Spirit grants stat bonuses when set on a given Pokémon. However, if the Pokémon’s nature stat matches the nature stat of the Battle Spirit, that battle spirit grants an additional +10HP. If the Pokémon’s nature matches the Battle Spirit’s nature, it grants an additional 10HP.

For example, the Lonely, Adamant, Naughty, and Brave natures all increase the Attack stat. Therefore, any of the Battle Spirits that are associated with Lonely, Adamant, Naughty, and Brave will give a +10HP bonus to any Pokémon that has a Lonely, Adamant, Naughty, or Brave nature.

Let’s say, for example, that a Pokémon with an Adamant nature has 3 Battle Spirits set: Resolve, Determination, and Tenacity. Since Resolve, Determination, and Tenacity are all Adamant Battle Spirits, each of them grant an additional 10HP.
